{"id":130452,"date":"2009-02-13T20:44:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-13T20:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b368e9f6-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2009-02-13T20:44:00","modified_gmt":"2009-02-13T20:44:00","slug":"b368ea0a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b368ea0a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Afetnas home was intentionally set on fire, according to DPS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An unoccupied house in Afetnas was intentionally set on fire by an unidentified person or persons last week, according to the Department of Public Safety yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>DPS spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said nobody was reported injured and no one has been arrested yet.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro said that last Thursday, Feb. 5, at 6:53pm, DPS received a report of a structure fire in the Afetnas area.<\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary investigation, Ogumoro said, the blaze fully engulfed the house and its roof had already collapsed by the time firefighters arrived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuppression was immediately commenced upon the arrival of Tanke-1, bringing the fire under control at 7:25pm,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the findings of arson investigators, the house was intentionally burned, Ogumoro said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis case is pending further investigation. The owner of the house, Ms. Remedio T. Nakatsukasa, is reportedly off-island,\u201d Ogumoro said.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro did not mention in her report the type of the affected house.
