Babauta and Galvin Deleon Guerrero wants absentee voters to participate in the upcoming NMI Republican Party primary for the November polls.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement, Babauta and Deleon Guerrero said the team will submit a request to party officials to consider the petition of off-island families to join in the primary, set on June 27.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been many inquiries from families and friends of off-island voters and from the off-island voters themselves whether they would be allowed to vote in the upcoming Republican [Party] primary election on June 27. The primary is an important election as it will decide the GOP candidates for governor and lt. governor in the November general election,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n<p>The two expressed their full support and extending the right to vote in the primary to all eligible off-island voters. They too must be included in the decision-making process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[We] will submit a request to party officials to consider such inquiries and to explore all options possible, to the extent practical, to allow our off-island voters to have a say in the primary election,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>The activity may require additional cost for the party, but they believe the activity is worth the money and the effort.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo the extent we can be all inclusive, the better,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>NMI Republican Party chairman Ed Tenorio yesterday declined to give a statement on the issue, saying a meeting will be called to discuss the matter next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The gubernatorial tandem of former governor Juan N.
