One of the survivors in last month\u2019s fatal vehicular crash in Dandan was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into a patient\u2019s room at the Commonwealth Health Center and stealing three debit cards and other items.<\/p>\n
Calvin A. Fitial, 25, was arrested for burglary, theft, forgery, theft by deception, and theft of service.<\/p>\n
Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo on Saturday imposed a $50,000 cash bail for Fitial\u2019s temporary liberty.<\/p>\n
Detective Christopher Leon Guerrero stated in his report that Fitial used the stolen debit card to buy items in different establishments on Saipan.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said that on April 26, a female caller called the Department of Public Safety to report a theft incident at the Taga Market in San Vicente, KL Market in Koblerville, and TM Sablan Co. in Chalan Piao.<\/p>\n
Officer Jonathan Decena responded and learned that a debit card was used to purchase over $350 worth of merchandise.<\/p>\n
That same night of April 26, a female caller informed DPS that a burglary and theft incident occurred inside Room C20 at CHC in Garapan.<\/p>\n
A responding police officer learned that three First Hawaiian Bank debit cards, a silver Sony digital camera, a personal check wallet, and driver\u2019s license were stolen from Room C20.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero learned from Warlita B. Lambert that her husband\u2019s debit card was used in several locations. Thomas Gregory Lambert was admitted at CHC at the time.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said he went to KL Market where the store owner showed him footages of the surveillance camera taken on April 15.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said the footage showed Fitial using Lambert\u2019s debit card to buy two cartons of cigarettes, one shampoo, and one shaver in the total amount of $126.68.<\/p>\n
Fitial allegedly introduced himself as Mr. Lambert to the cashier and that he\u2019s from Guam and had forgotten his identification card.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said he also proceeded to Taga Mart where he learned that on April 15 Fitial also used Lambert\u2019s debit card to buy two and a half cases of beer and 50 lbs of rice in the total amount of $149.19.<\/p>\n
The detective said upon his visit to Kiana\u2019s Salon & Spa he was told that a man had appeared at the shop and cashed $100 using a debit card.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said he learned that Fitial also used Lambert\u2019s debit card at the Gift Shop where the cashier handed $100 cash to the suspect.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said he visited CHC\u2019S security office where he saw surveillance camera footages that showed Fitial and a male companion entering Room C18, which is adjacent to Lambert\u2019s room.<\/p>\n
Lambert told Leon Guerrero that he went through surgery at CHC for hernia and that on April 16 his wallet, three debit cards, a digital camera, and a wrist watch were missing from his room.<\/p>\n
Lambert said he went outside for fresh air and when he returned, the divider in the room was slightly open.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerrero said Fitial was within Room C18, which was adjacent to Room C20. <\/p>\n
Fitial was one of several persons injured in a vehicular accident in Dandan, during which one passenger died.<\/p>\n
Fitial was at CHC to visit Doming Dela Cruz, who was one of the victims in that accident and was in Room C18.<\/p>\n
Leon Guerero said that Fitial tried again to use Lambert\u2019s debit card on May 4 at the Shell Gas Station in Koblerville.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
