(Contributed Photo)\" width=\"100\" height=\"76\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0It&#8217;s been a memorable tournament so far for the CNMI U14 National Team currently seeing action in the AFC U-14 Boys&#8217; Festival of Football for East Asia in Beijing, China.<\/p>\n<p>Last Wednesday, the Commonwealth strikers pulled off a 2-0 victory against Chinese-Taipei during their second game in Day 1 of the four-day competition.<\/p>\n<p>Then on Thursday, the CNMI U14 Team prevailed over Macau, 1-0, and led the favored host China before settling for a draw, 1-1, in the later match.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from Chinese-Taipei, Macau, and China, the CNMI also dueled South Korea and Guam in Day 1 of the youth tournament and although the Commonwealth players failed to win, they held their ground on defense, allowing their foes to score only two goals each.<\/p>\n<p>In other top sports news last week, Blue Haus won the championship of the 2nd Domino Lux International Fraternity Basketball Invitational Friendship\/Miller Lite League after outlasting QQ Rent A Car, 76-69, at the Gualo Rai Basketball Court.<\/p>\n<p>It was the second straight DLX caging title for Blue Haus, which was led by Badong Camacho&#8217;s 21 points en route to winning finals MVP honors.<\/p>\n<p>QQ Rent A Car&#8217;s Elgene Mangali, meanwhile, was adjudged regular season MVP after norming 17.4 points in the elimination round where his team finished at the No. 5 spot.<\/p>\n<p>Trench Tech Purebred&#8217;s Mark \u201cThe Dark\u201d Nuique, meanwhile, won Trench Tech&#8217;s bantamweight title in Rites of Passage 12: Unstoppable held last April 20 at the Royal Taga Ballroom of the Saipan World Resort.<\/p>\n<p>Nuique stopped Duenas (4-1) at 1:40 into the first round with a rear-naked choke submission, to win the coveted championship in the 135-lb division and stretching the former&#8217;s win streak to eight.<\/p>\n<p>Games in the Saipan Little League, Saipan Major League, NMIFA men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s and boys and girls, MISO softball, and COPSSA basketball as well as an SCA MTB &amp; Road Race 3 competition were also held last week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mark Rabago Associate Editor \u00a0It&#8217;s been a memorable tournament so far for the CNMI&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-13780","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sports"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/13780","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=13780"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/13780\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=13780"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=13780"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=13780"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
