David<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>The number of homebound clients being served by the Office on Aging went up by over 30 percent in the last fiscal year, according to director Rose Mondala.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s climbing really fast,\u201d Mondala said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>This increase, Mondala said, is reflected in a \u201ccomparison online report\u201d for services rendered for fiscal years 2010 and 2011 that their office is currently preparing.<\/p>\n<p>Mondala said that she is working on the report with the help of Aging staffers Walter Manglona and David Celis.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mondala, the report is part of the requirements of the Administration on Aging under the Department of Health and Human Services, a federal agency that provides funding for the man&#8217;amko in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>Mondala said the report will include \u201ceverything\u201d-from meal counts to supplies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will show the big effect that the economy is doing to the services we provide for our man&#8217;amko,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The report will be subject to the approval of Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Secretary Melvin Faisao and Gov. Benigno R. Fitial.<\/p>\n<p>Mondala said they have another week to present the report to Faisao and Fitial before they submit it to the Administration on Aging.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Clarissa V.
