Hocog, a former supervisor at the Department of Public Safety\u2019s Bureau of Motor Vehicles, has pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiring with four others to illegally issue driver\u2019s licenses in exchange for cash. <\/p>\n<p>In a change of plea hearing Wednesday afternoon in federal court, Hocog pleaded guilty to conspiracy to unlawfully produce and transfer an identification document.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI visiting judge John C. Coughenour set Hocog\u2019s sentencing for Sept. 13, 2011, at 10am. The plea agreement was placed under seal.<\/p>\n<p>Hocog used to be the supervisor at BMV\u2019s Records and Firearms Section. He was represented at trial by attorney Vicente Salas.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier that afternoon, Hocog\u2019s co-defendants, Hongmei Sun and Hui Qiang Yan, also pleaded guilty to the same charge. Sun and Yan will  be sentenced on Sept. 14, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The other co-defendants in the case are Mohammad Jahangir Miah and his wife, Tahira Dolores S. Miah. <\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecution, Sun and Yan introduced foreign nationals as driver\u2019s license applicants to the Miah couple in order for the applicants to illegally obtain driver\u2019s licenses with the help of Hocog. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>William A.
