Police arrested on Sunday in As Matuis a man who allegedly burglarized a restaurant in Tanapag and stole a freezer and other items.<\/p>\n
Sylvestry M. Amirez, 26, who was arrested for burglary and theft, was taken to the Superior Court yesterday afternoon for a bail hearing.<\/p>\n
A $20,000 cash bail was initially imposed for Amirez\u2019s temporary liberty.<\/p>\n
Detective Patrick P. Sablan stated in his report that on May 24, 2011 at 6:11pm, a police officer responded to a burglary and theft incident that happened at the Wrath By the Sea Restaurant in Tanapag.<\/p>\n
Sablan said that on Friday morning, he met a man at his residence in Tanapag and escorted him to the Department of Public Safety\u2019s Criminal Investigation Bureau for an interview regarding the burglary case.<\/p>\n
Sablan said the man admitted that on May 24 at 9pm, Amirez came to his residence with a pickup truck and asked for his assistance.<\/p>\n
Amirez allegedly asked the person to help him carry a freezer at the Wrath By the Sea Restaurant.<\/p>\n
The detective said both the person and Amirez proceeded to the restaurant and transported a freezer, an ice box, and three steel stove burners into the truck.<\/p>\n
The two then dropped the items to Amirez\u2019s residence in As Matuis.<\/p>\n
