{"id":152729,"date":"2011-06-14T22:17:00","date_gmt":"2011-06-14T22:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bc6cac10-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2011-06-14T22:17:00","modified_gmt":"2011-06-14T22:17:00","slug":"bc6cac20-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bc6cac20-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Drunk domestic violence suspect drops knife after cop warns him of pepper mace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An alleged drunk man who beat up his wife dropped his knife when a police officer threatened to spray him with pepper mace at a residence in Koblerville on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>John West Teregeyo, 39, was secured by two police officers after he dropped the knife.<\/p>\n<p>Teregeyo was taken to the Superior Court on Monday afternoon for bail hearing on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that on Thursday at 10:46pm, two police officers responded to Koblerville after receiving a call about a domestic violence.<\/p>\n<p>Pangelinan said when the officers arrived at the scene, a woman who was shaking ran to the patrol vehicle and begged to the officers to take away the drunken Teregeyo.<\/p>\n<p>As the officers approached Teregeyo, the defendant refused to leave the premises.<\/p>\n<p>While one officer was interviewing the wife, the second officer noticed Teregeyo holding a knife.<\/p>\n<p>The first officer pulled his pepper mace and threatened he would spray it at him if he would not drop the knife.<\/p>\n<p>Teregeyo dropped the weapon, prompting the officers to secure him.<\/p>\n<p>The victim said while she was at her sister\u2019s house in San Vicente, Teregeyo came drunk, started bothering her and threatened to beat her up.<\/p>\n<p>The victim took their children and along with her sister proceeded to the latter\u2019s house in Koblerville.<\/p>\n<p>Teregeyo followed in Koblerville where he slapped his wife on the face and threatened to beat her up.
