Regulars at the Aging Center have a new toy: a bingo machine donated by Pacific Amusement Inc. to replace the man\u2019amko\u2019s obsolete equipment.<\/p>\n
The secondhand Mach Bingo Desk Version 4.0 was presented by Pacific Amusement Inc. general manager James Gebhard and his wife Jum Gebhard to Saipan Seniors Advisory Council members yesterday afternoon. Pacific Amusement Inc. staff installed the machine that same day.<\/p>\n
James Gebhard said it took them two months and $7,000 to ship the used bingo machine from Chicago to Saipan.<\/p>\n
Gebhard recounted that when he found out that the previous bingo machine had broken down, he talked with his business partner Paul Trombetta about possibly donating another bingo machine.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey play bingo here every day and we\u2019d like to help them out,\u201d said Gebhard.<\/p>\n
Gebhard said the man\u2019amko will appreciate the donated machine as it has 30 different pre-programmed games and a camera that can show all players what ball and number has been drawn.<\/p>\n
As for his message to the man\u2019amko, Gebhard simply said: \u201cHave fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
Council chair Teresita Sorroza said there are \u201cno appropriate words\u201d to express their appreciation for Pacific Amusement\u2019s bingo machine donation.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody was so happy they were yelling. It\u2019s really a big help and I know the man\u2019amko will take care of this machine,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Acting director Walter Manglona disclosed that Pacific Amusement Inc. has been a consistent supporter of the congregates at the Aging Center, having donated various sports equipment in the past such as pool table and dart machines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey probably donated the most value at the Aging Center,\u201d he told Saipan Tribune. \u201cWe are very fortunate that they\u2019re kind enough to donate this machine for the man\u2019amko.\u201d<\/p>\n
