Dandan Neighborhood Watch block captain Frank Camacho expressed \u201cdisappointment and outrage\u201d upon discovering that one of their small signposts had been damaged.<\/p>\n
The signpost, which was erected in September 2010, now sports a big hole, like \u201csomebody deliberately did that,\u201d said Camacho.<\/p>\n
Camacho said they have three small signposts at each of the entry points to Dandan that cost them about $700. <\/p>\n
He said there are two bigger signages that are placed conspicuously in the village to encourage better participation in the Village Neighborhood Watch Task Force.<\/p>\n
Camacho disclosed that they discovered the damage on the signpost about two to three weeks ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe team that\u2019s been cleaning around our village is disappointed that somebody did something like that. I\u2019m actually more outraged than disappointed,\u201d he told Saipan Tribune. <\/p>\n
Camacho said that someone used a heavy object, most likely made of metal, to create the big hole on the signpost.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho would do such a thing and what can they get from doing it?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n
Camacho believes that people who would do that are not educated enough and do not realize that they are creating a problem instead of helping the task force.<\/p>\n
He said he did not report the incident but hopes that they would catch the perpetrator in the act.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe task force is created for residents to be watchful of wrong things being done in the village but we can\u2019t monitor it all the time. If we catch the one who did this, we\u2019ll have him prosecuted because that\u2019s damaging public property,\u201d said Camacho.<\/p>\n
