{"id":153210,"date":"2011-07-01T21:42:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-01T21:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bca18525-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2011-07-01T21:42:00","modified_gmt":"2011-07-01T21:42:00","slug":"bca1853c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bca1853c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"DPS employee who refused lie detector test \u2018related\u2019 to sisters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Department of Public Safety employee who reportedly refused to undergo a lie detector test as part of investigation into the disappearance of sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk is somehow \u201crelated\u201d to the missing girls, Saipan Tribune learned from sources yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>This developed as DPS Commissioner Ramon Mafnas stated that obviously they know the Luhk sisters \u201cdid not disappear into thin air.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sources said this DPS personnel is on leave and possibly submitted his resignation.<\/p>\n<p>DPS acting spokesman Jason Tarkong refused to comment when asked about the status of this personnel.<\/p>\n<p>DPS has refused to confirm or deny if this personnel is among those on the investigators\u2019 list of persons of interest in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Mafnas said they know that someone took the girls and that they believe the children may have known the individual or individuals involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t believe two children ages 9 and 10 would walk away with total stranger without a scream or holler,\u201d Mafnas said.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner said they still don\u2019t know if the children really got into a car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have any knowledge. We are looking at every angle, any kind of scenario that maybe took place that date,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>With respect to statements of witnesses, Mafnas said they don\u2019t take the word of anybody at face value.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look into it to ensure that what they are telling us is correct.
