Acting governor Eloy S. Inos said the projected revenues available for government operations in fiscal year 2012 remains at $102 million by the July 1 threshold, a day after the Senate followed the House\u2019s approval of a concurrent resolution on a $102 million budget.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far we haven\u2019t seen any significant change,\u201d Inos said. \u201cAs of July 1, we didn\u2019t think that events\u2026will allow for any major significant change in estimates.\u201d<\/p>\n
Senate President Paul Manglona (Ind-Rota), for his part, said the Senate passed with reservation House Concurrent Resolution 17-3, House Draft 1 on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Just like the Senate, the House grudgingly approved the concurrent resolution on Wednesday last week. Members believe that less than $100 million would be available for government operations in fiscal year 2012, but still adopted the resolution.<\/p>\n
The House and Senate were expecting that the Fitial administration would submit a report to the Legislature on Friday any changes in projected revenues for 2012, but that report didn\u2019t come.<\/p>\n
Inos said the Fitial administration didn\u2019t think there\u2019s a change in the $102 million budget, so there\u2019s no need to submit a report.<\/p>\n
Inos, a former Finance secretary who currently oversees government finances, said the $102 million budget already takes into consideration the end of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant funding and the privatization of the Commonwealth Health Center.<\/p>\n
Fiscal year 2012 will be from Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2012.<\/p>\n
In related news, so-called non-critical government employees who didn\u2019t get paid last week may receive their paychecks today.<\/p>\n
Since June 2010, the government has been delayed at least 17 times in issuing paychecks to \u201cnon-critical\u201d employees because of cash shortage resulting from the slow economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
