Naraja has imposed a seven-year probation on a man who tampered with a power meter and did not pay $6,600 worth of electricity.<\/p>\n<p>Naraja on Monday sentenced Francisco M. Sanchez to six months in prison, all suspended, for a count of theft of utility services.<\/p>\n<p>Sanchez was ordered to pay $6,658.38 in restitution to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp., a $750 fine, a $700 probation fee, and a $25 court fee.<\/p>\n<p>Sanchez and counsel, chief public defender Adam Hardwicke, signed a plea agreement with the government. Assistant attorney general Eileen Wisor appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>The judge also required Sanchez to write a letter of apology to CUC and the  people of the CNMI and submit the letter to newspaper editors for publication.<\/p>\n<p>The plea agreement stated that on October 2006 to November 2010 on Saipan, Sanchez, after having been disconnected by CUC, tampered with his meter such that power was restored illegally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superior Court presiding judge Robert C.
