You choose. I personally believe that Deputy Director Ray Lizama and Dr. Tudor did their jobs very professionally and I would like to personally thank them for doing their jobs and making our community safer.

I’ve been hearing all these negative comments about the dog incident. Here is my question to the community: If you or your immediate family or child is bitten, would you take things into your own hands? Defend your family? Have that dog taken? How about if that viscous dog is on the loose and is biting everyone, how would you feel? Safer? Traumatized?

On the business establishment of Mrs. Walker, is it even her business or is it is someone else’s? The shop owner says it was their dog during the incident; now he’s saying it is Mrs. Walker’s and Manny Alvarez’s dog. Now the issue is bigger. Who’s the real dog owner? If she really loved her dog, then why didn’t she register and find out the new rules and regulations from the Mayor’s Office, just like the other thousands of people who love their dogs too. There were ads, flyers, and a whole bunch of promotion about the dog tagging.

On that day, the business shows that it opens at 9am and the victim was at the establishment at 9:15am. Yeah, there were signs, but if it’s time for business, shouldn’t the dogs be removed for business beforehand? The victim went to check if they’re open or not, and she got bitten. Shouldn’t there be a sign in front of the establishment noting that business operations will open at a different time, not behind the dog.

This victim is not the only one who has been bitten. There are a whole bunch of other victims that have been bitten by these viscous two dogs. It was also very unfortunate for DPS staff Richard Santos, who was also attacked while doing his duty. Not once did they apologize during the scene. Let’s make the community safer for our children. And be careful, as you might be next.

Michael Kim
San Antonio, Saipan

Is human life more important than a dog’s?
