{"id":154857,"date":"2011-09-05T21:14:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-05T21:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bd540d55-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2011-09-05T21:14:00","modified_gmt":"2011-09-05T21:14:00","slug":"bd540d66-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bd540d66-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Capitol Poker robbery suspect falls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police arrested over the weekend the suspect in the broad daylight robbery at Capitol Poker in Sadog Tasi, the Saipan Tribune learned.<\/p>\n<p>Sources disclosed that police officers served the arrest warrant on George Castro on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Castro is now being detained at the Department of Corrections for robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and other charges.<\/p>\n<p>At least three officers from the Department of Public Safety confirmed Castro\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect is expected to be taken to the Superior Court today, Tuesday, for his initial court appearance.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was armed with a knife when he reportedly tied a 56-year-old male cashier and robbed Capitol Poker on Aug. 29, 2011, at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>A surveillance camera captured the robbery. The poker establishment\u2019s owner showed the footage to police investigators. KSPN aired the footage last week.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was playing poker when he called the cashier about a problem with the machine. As the cashier was checking the machine, the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife, grabbed him from behind, and pointed it at his neck or chest.<\/p>\n<p>The robber then dragged the cashier to the cashier\u2019s booth and tied the victim\u2019s hands behind his back before taking the money from the counter.<\/p>\n<p>Although he was tied up, the cashier managed to call his employer, who then called the police.<\/p>\n<p>It was the third robbery at Capitol Poker since April 2004.
