Being raised in the U.S. mainland and rooted in the islands automatically sets Island Trybe apart from the rest of the pack. <\/p>\n<p>Island Trybe has brought recognition to the people of the Marianas in the U.S. mainland, having released four albums over the years and doing 49 performances in 2009 alone (47 throughout the state of Washington, one in Las Vegas, NV and one in Temecula, CA). The official music video of their hit single Blow Ya Mynd, which was released in February this year, has received over 28,000 views on the popular video-sharing website, YouTube. If that still doesn\u2019t ring a bell, their latest hit single, Skankin\u2019, which was officially released this August, has been airing on Power99 (99.5FM) and has been the most requested song on Power99. <\/p>\n<p>After being away from the islands for almost a decade, the Island Trybe brothers, Y.D. (David Quitugua) and B.O.I. (Matthew Quitugua) is on a journey back home. Their journey starts in Guam as they are scheduled to perform at Power98\u2019s Facebook Birthday Party \u201cFriends with Benefits\u201d on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at The Globe Ultra Lounge in Tumon, Guam. <\/p>\n<p>Soon after, Island Trybe will grace the Commonwealth as Budweiser\/MARPAC, Salbahe\u2019 Brand, Betelnut Radio, and United Nesia present \u201cUnited Nesia Fest: Coming Home Tour\u201d and will headline Island Trybe as they perform live on Saipan. Also performing is Tacoma, Washington\u2019s Jay Sway, along with an array of Saipan\u2019s very own: Fatal Hitz, RoccJuan (who is an original member of Island Trybe), Latte Vibes, 6se7nh0, and Tom Basa Jr. Also in the mix is Tacoma, Washington\u2019s DJ Boboy and Saipan\u2019s DJ Big Ken Camacho. <\/p>\n<p>Hosted by \u201cThe Fina Sisu Mestisu\u201d LJ Castro, United Nesia Fest: Coming Home Tour is going live on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at The Pool Bar, Pacific Islands Club, Saipan and all the action starts at 6pm through 10pm.
