Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman has imposed a 90-day prison sentence on a man who attacked a family of three and shattered a car\u2019s windshield in Koblerville.<\/p>\n
Danny D. Disa, 25, had pleaded guilty to three counts of assault and battery as part of a plea deal.<\/p>\n
Wiseman on Wednesday sentenced Disa to a year in jail, all suspended except for 90 days, with credit for time served. That means he is now a free man since he has already been in jail for 90 days.<\/p>\n
He will be placed, however, on three years of supervised release and required to pay a $500 fine, $25 court assessment fee, and $100 probation fee. He was also directed to pay restitution to the victims, including the damage to the car, the cell phone, and the house.<\/p>\n
Disa was required to pay all costs of all medical fees associated with injuries to one of the victims as a result of the assault. He was also sentenced to 50 hours of community service.<\/p>\n
Disa repeatedly punched Mohammed Muslim in the head and attempted to hit him with a screwdriver on July 2, 2011.<\/p>\n
He punched Sabrina Satur in the head and attempted to hit her with a screwdriver. He also slapped Satur\u2019s daughter.<\/p>\n
Muslim told police that Disa then walked out of their house and punched the driver\u2019s side windshield of a Toyota Tercel belonging to an auto shop\u2019s customer. The punch caused the windshield to shatter.<\/p>\n
When Muslim tried to call the police, the suspect grabbed the cell phone and threw it away.<\/p>\n
Satur reportedly suffered head trauma and was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center, police said.<\/p>\n
Disa was arrested later that day and was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, burglary, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n
