Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman has slapped a 14-day prison term against a man who stole seven containers of milk worth $132.93 from a store on Capital Hill.<\/p>\n
Wiseman sentenced Vincent San Nicolas Mu\u00f1a on Wednesday to six months in prison, all suspended except for 14 days, for theft, with credit for time served.<\/p>\n
Mu\u00f1a will begin serving his sentence today, Saturday, at 8am; he is expected to be released on Oct. 28 and will be placed on two years of supervised release. He was also required to pay $132.93 to Sara Market, a $200 fine, $25 court assessment fee, plus probation fee.<\/p>\n
The Office of the Attorney General had charged Mu\u00f1a with theft. He pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal.<\/p>\n
Mu\u00f1a stole seven containers of 12.9 oz Similac infant formula from Sara Market on Aug. 22, 2010.<\/p>\n
This wasn\u2019t Mu\u00f1a\u2019s first brush with the law; he has two prior arrests for alleged theft.<\/p>\n
In April 2007, Mu\u00f1a and a 17-year-old boy were arrested shortly after a security guard caught them allegedly shoplifting some items at the former Price Costco in San Jose. The guard was injured when the teenager struggled.<\/p>\n
In January 2008, Mu\u00f1a and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for allegedly beating up a businessman inside the Hi-Mart Store in Dandan.<\/p>\n
Police said one of the suspects punched the storeowner in the face, causing a struggle. The suspects also allegedly attacked the owner with a metal pipe and a large rock.<\/p>\n
It was not clear whether Mu\u00f1a was convicted in the San Jose and Dandan incidents. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
