Palacios: I was not arrested; I don\u2019t sell \u2018ice\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rep. Raymond D. Palacios (Cov-Saipan) said that he was not arrested and is not selling \u201cice,\u201d amid information to the contrary that circulated in the community yesterday afternoon.  <\/p>\n<p>Palacios denied reports that he was arrested by the FBI or any other authorities yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t sell. I never had in my possession ice to sell to anyone,\u201d he told Saipan Tribune in a phone interview. \u201cThe information spreading around is false, untrue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Palacios said he was at home yesterday morning, and was at the Legislature in the afternoon. He said he had not been to the U.S. District Court or the Superior Court.<\/p>\n<p>His colleagues at the House of Representatives, as well as others who were at the Legislature yesterday, said they were surprised to hear the news that he was arrested for selling the drug \u201cice\u201d when he was at the Legislature the whole afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was in front of us, we were in a meeting,\u201d one of the lawmakers said.<\/p>\n<p>Palacios, chairman of the House Committee on Education, said he was bombarded by questions from his fellow lawmakers, his constituents, and other members of the public after a breaking news about his arrest was posted online by another newspaper.  That item was later removed from the online edition.<\/p>\n<p>No information about Palacios\u2019s arrest was obtained from the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office as of press time.
