Many man\u2019amko are feeling the pressure of a tight economy but there is good news. It is now open enrollment for Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. Part D is available for those man\u2019amko who have active Medicare Part A and B coverage. Medicare Part A covers hospitalization and Part B covers physician visits. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re happy to announce that, to date, 14 of our man\u2019amko have been successfully enrolled into AARP Medicare Part D for prescription drug coverage, and more enrollments are expected to be completed within the next week,\u201d said Raena Celis, Brabu Pharmacy\u2019s customer service specialist. \u201cWe\u2019ve helped almost 30 people complete the enrollment application so far. We hope to help more before enrollment ends on Dec. 7.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPart D coverage for new enrollees will begin Jan. 1, 2012. The premium for most applicants will be $17.10 per month, for those older than 65 years of age and just joining, it may cost a bit more,\u201d explained Ted Parker, Brabu Pharmacy co-owner. \u201cWe want to assist our patients to enroll because many have told us their problems with trying to call a Medicare representative or trying to enroll online. Some simply gave up.\u201d<\/p>\n
Man\u2019amko wishing to enroll in AARP Medicare Part D are invited to visit Brabu Pharmacy and Wellness Center, open Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm, and on Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm. The enrollment process is free and takes only a few minutes. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s well worth your time if you would like to lower your co-pay for prescription drugs,\u201d said Parker, \u201cPeople taking generic drugs for diabetes or high blood pressure maintenance can expect their co-pays to lower to $6 for a 30-day supply, or go down to zero if they have dual insurances.\u201d<\/p>\n
