Keeping a business afloat in tough times is never easy, but Chalan Kanoa Beach Hotel has weathered its first year under new management by staying true to its vision to be the \u201cultimate tropical getaway.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 20-suite, eight-garden room hotel, strategically located in what was once the island\u2019s capital, will be celebrating this milestone on Sunday, Nov. 20, with an array of promotions for its ever growing clientele.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur anniversary specials are our way to express our deepest appreciation to all our customers who have supported us in the past year, allowing us to remain in this business and continue to serve the community,\u201d said chef Rod Gabriel in an interview.<\/p>\n
Gabriel heads a nine-member team at the hotel\u2019s Restaurant & Bar Five-O, and is joined by some six more staffers who all make sure that Chalan Kanoa Beach Hotel stays on top of its game.<\/p>\n
The anniversary promotions, Gabriel said, will be highlighted by an extensive lunch buffet this Sunday. The buffet features an assorted selection of soup, salad, appetizers, pika pika, pasta, and main courses.<\/p>\n
For a reasonable price of just $14.95 per person, diners can savor the restaurant\u2019s own recipes of potato cream soup, chicken kelaguen, kimchi, burritos, seafood pasta, Aglio olio pasta, roast beef, garlic vegetable, ribs and chicken barbecue, pork with black beans sauce, garlic butter shrimp, and sweet and sour fish.<\/p>\n
The buffet, which will run from 11am to 2pm, includes desserts like ice cream, mixed fruits, and homemade cookies, as well as bottomless drinks (soda, juice, iced tea, and champagne to celebrate the occasion). <\/p>\n
Customers who made a minimum purchase of $10 at the restaurant from Nov. 1 to 20 will also be given raffle tickets for a chance to win exciting prizes, including breakfast and lunch certificates and a weekend getaway at the Chalan Kanoa Beach Hotel.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will draw the raffle winners during our anniversary lunch buffet on Sunday,\u201d Gabriel said, adding that raffle holders need not be present to win.<\/p>\n
Buffet customers can also use the hotel facilities, including the swimming pool and the tennis\/volleyball court. Gabriel said pool passes, which can also be used at the restaurant, are available for sale for $7 per child and $10 per adult.<\/p>\n
As part of their anniversary celebration, Gabriel said they are offering for the month of November happy hour prices or 50 percent discount on all items on their drinks menu and 30 percent discount on all a la carte items on the food menu.<\/p>\n
Among their must-try dishes, Gabriel said, are the Hawaiian Basket or the Hawaiian-style fried chicken, their creamy Carbonara, and the Loco Moco or hamburger patties cooked in white sauce.<\/p>\n
Gabriel noted that diners can still avail of their daily breakfast and lunch specials. Local rates for hotel rooms also apply.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our way of saying thank you for our customers\u2019 patronage,\u201d said Gabriel. \u201cWe hope that our relationship will carry on for more years.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Gabriel, building their customer base was no easy feat. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a struggle because we have a lot of competitors but we made it through because we maintained the quality of our food, the affordability of our prices, and our superior customer service,\u201d he explained. \u201cOur weekly meetings help us improve and guarantee our customers the satisfaction they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gabriel added that patrons can look forward to a lot of exciting plans for Chalan Kanoa Beach Hotel. He encouraged those who haven\u2019t tried their food to join them on Sunday\u2019s lunch buffet. \u201cI\u2019m pretty sure that you will appreciate the food and would come back for more.\u201d<\/p>\n
