All is set for tonight\u2019s \u201cShowtime 2011: A spectacular show for a cause\u201d starting at 7pm at the American Memorial Park Amphitheater.<\/p>\n
Sharmaine Casquero of the event organizer Saipan Divas said that the public will be in for a treat as different cultural groups will perform their song or dance numbers during the show.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the show cost $5 each.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur audience can look forward to big production numbers from all performers,\u201d Casquero told Saipan Tribune. \u201cIt will be a showdown of songs, hip-hop and cultural dances, and other performances that we worked hard for to give the community a great show.\u201d<\/p>\n
Casquero said there will be performances from the Bangladesh Association, Thai and Chinese groups, and different dance groups such as the SDC Dancers and the Rock-a-bit Dancers.<\/p>\n
According to Casquero, there will be production numbers from gays from Saipan and Tinian who will do impersonations of famous celebrities like Beyonce, Madonna, and Lady Gaga.<\/p>\n
Casquero disclosed that their ticket sales are doing okay and many have expressed their support for the event which aims to raise funds for the seven individuals who have filed a lawsuit that seeks to suspend the implementation of the CNMI-only Transitional Worker final rule.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not just an effort of one group but by many groups and individuals who have teamed up and give everyone a fun show,\u201d said Casquero.<\/p>\n
Casquero encouraged all foreign workers and the rest of the community to support their cause and enjoy the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe invite everyone to watch the show and witness the unity of the foreign workers in the CNMI,\u201d said Casquero.<\/p>\n
