Brilliant Star School will be hosting its 7th Annual Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 9am to 5pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.<\/p>\n
The Annual Holiday Bazaar is a pre-holiday festival and fundraising event showcasing the talents, wares, and services of CNMI artists and service providers while spreading the holiday cheer.<\/p>\n
Richard Sikkel, principal for Brilliant Star School, said this year\u2019s bazaar will feature holiday-themed craft items made by students, calendars, food and baked items, and a bouncy house for the young crowd. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe school raises money by providing arts and crafts for kids, so parents can do some shopping at the bazaar while their child is doing the arts and crafts,\u201d Sikkel said.<\/p>\n
Of the 26 booths for the event, Sikkel disclosed that they only have about six left. Each vendor pays $50 per booth for the whole day, with the proceeds of their sales going directly into their pockets.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe still have a few booths available, but they\u2019re going like hot cakes since [yesterday] morning,\u201d said Sikkel.<\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s attractions also include performances throughout the day from the Manta Ray Band, Nate van Ee, Lil\u2019 Hands, Do Re Mi, Mei Demapan, Keynotes, Angel\u2019s, and Glusko\u2019s Academy.<\/p>\n
Sikkel said they will also hold their annual holiday raffle, which would give away various items donated by local businesses. All proceeds of the raffle will go to the school.<\/p>\n
The fundraising efforts will help Brilliant Star School provide tuition assistance to qualifying families \u201cto ensure economic diversity\u201d in its classrooms. <\/p>\n
Brilliant Star School currently has 70 students, said Sikkel.<\/p>\n
Any additional money from the event will also be used to improve the school\u2019s playground.<\/p>\n
