Benigno R. Fitial left yesterday morning for Hong Kong on personal leave, while three senators\u2014Senate President Paul Manglona (Ind-Rota), Sen. Ralph Torres (R-Saipan) and Sen. Juan Ayuyu (Ind-Rota)\u2014are in China on official business.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate postponed today\u2019s session to Dec. 15 because of conflict with the China trip, which is at the invitation of a Chinese group of investors interested in renewable energy projects in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Senate president Jude Hofschneider (R-Tinian) said he could only confirm that the three senators are in China and would be back this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Acting governor Eloy S. Inos and press secretary Angel Demapan separately confirmed yesterday the governor\u2019s off-island trip.  Fitial is primarily attending the wedding of a godson.<\/p>\n<p>Demapan said the governor left with first lady Josie Fitial, and they are expected back on Dec. 8.<\/p>\n<p>The press secretary said he has yet to confirm whether Fitial will stop by the Philippines on his way back to Saipan for a medical checkup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
