{"id":157144,"date":"2011-12-04T21:48:00","date_gmt":"2011-12-04T21:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bdb17a0b-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2011-12-04T21:48:00","modified_gmt":"2011-12-04T21:48:00","slug":"bdb17a1c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bdb17a1c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"SSHS\u2019 Guiao awarded a Quest Bridge scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A senior student of Saipan Southern High School was named Friday a Quest Bridge scholar for school year 2011-2012.<\/p>\n<p>Lallane Guiao is the second Pacific Islander to accomplish such a feat, next to Darren Demapan who now attends Stanford University.<\/p>\n<p>As a Quest Bridge scholar, Guiao\u2019s college expenses will all be paid for by the scholarship program. Her college scholarship grant amounts to $58,671.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am truly honored to have been selected for this scholarship. It\u2019s like a dream come true. My family is extremely proud of me. I would not have been able to accomplish this if it weren\u2019t for their motivation,\u201d she told Saipan Tribune yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Guiao will enroll at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. <\/p>\n<p>She said she is thinking of majoring in political science in preparation for a degree in law.
