{"id":157227,"date":"2011-12-07T21:43:00","date_gmt":"2011-12-07T21:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bdb2164a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2011-12-07T21:43:00","modified_gmt":"2011-12-07T21:43:00","slug":"bdb21661-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bdb21661-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"SSC Jingle Bell Run draws more than 80"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over 80 participated in yesterday\u2019s 2011 Saipan Swim Club Jingle Bell Fun Run.<\/p>\n<p>The about 5-kilometer race started from the Garapan Fishing Base and ended at the Kilili Beach Park in Susupe with Ketson \u201cJack\u201d Kabiriel finishing first overall anew with a time of 17 minutes and 25 seconds. Kabiriel\u2019s time in yesterday\u2019s race was the fastest in his three wins in the last four editions of the annual fundraiser. In 2008, Kabiriel submitted 17:38 and then posted 17:57 last year.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Kabiriel in the Top 3 of the men\u2019s division were Ronald Villafria and Tom Linden, who clocked in at 17:36 and 18:02, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Mancao of Marianas High School was the fourth overall finisher and first student to reach Kilili Beach at the 18:50 mark. Completing the Top 3 in the male students division were Saipan International School Rintaro Miyawaki (21:03) and Whispering Palms\u2019 Logan Mister (21:32).<\/p>\n<p>In the female student division, Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School\u2019s Conatsu Kaga clocked in at 28:09, more than two minutes ahead of runner-up Soleil Lamar (31:19). Karen Sato rounded out the Top 3 with her 32:45.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s division, Pipic finished first with a time of 22:42, as she beat Sakiko Eda in a sprint to the finish line. Eda logged 22:43 to settle for second place, while Heather Kennedy and Suzy Kindel came in at third and fourth with times of 23:37 and 24:48, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Participants ran the course with bells placed either on their arms or legs ringing and when they made it to the finish line they received bags of candies and cookies. Raffle prizes were also given away after the race.<\/p>\n<p>SSC would like to thank all the runners and sponsors of the Jingle Bell Run for supporting the fundraiser.
