Bordallo was reassured by a recent announcement that the Government of Japan has delivered its Environmental Impact Statement on plans to develop a Futenma Replacement Facility in northern Okinawa. The report was delivered to the Okinawa Prefectural Government early Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government of Japan continues to make concrete progress toward resolving issues in developing a Futenma Replacement Facility in Okinawa,\u201d said Bordallo. \u201cThis Environmental Impact Statement is an important step forward with the realignment of Marines in Japan. \u00a0These steps by the Japanese government are important to showing their efforts to resolve political impasses in Okinawa, and this important action builds on Prime Minister Noda\u2019s commitment to achieving \u2018tangible progress\u2019 on a Futenma Replacement Facility. \u00a0I continue to work with my colleagues in Congress and officials at DOD to ensure that the U.S. fulfills its commitments under the Guam International Agreement.\u201d [B][I](PR)[\/I][\/B]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON, D.C.\u2014Guam Delegate Madeleine Z.
