Funkugub appeared in the U.S. District Court for the NMI with his court-appointed counsel, Ramona Quichocho, late Friday afternoon for his initial appearance.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona set Funkugub\u2019s detention hearing and arraignment for Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment charged Funkugub with one count of felon in possession of a firearm; one count of possession of a firearm with a removed, altered, or obliterated serial number; and one count of felon in possession of ammunition.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment filed Thursday, Funkugub was convicted on Sept. 21, 2000, in the Superior Court of cattle killing, which is punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 11, 2011, the defendant allegedly possessed one Smith and Wesson, Model 12-3, .38 caliber snub-nose revolver.
