A man who was asked by his girlfriend to cook rice for their children allegedly assaulted her with a head-butt and a broom in Chalan Kanoa over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Moses Kaipat Buekis, 26, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.<\/p>\n
Police said the victim suffered a bruise to the upper right knee.<\/p>\n
At yesterday\u2019s hearing, Superior Court associate judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $6,000 cash bail for the defendant\u2019s temporary release.<\/p>\n
Camacho appointed the Office of Public Defender to represent Buekis.<\/p>\n
Detective JB K. Cepeda stated in his report that two police officers responded to a residence in Chalan Kanoa on Saturday at noon after receiving a call about domestic violence.<\/p>\n
Cepeda said the victim told one of the officers that prior to the attack, she asked Buekis to cook rice for their children, but he just ignored her.<\/p>\n
When the girlfriend insisted, Buekis got up from bed and allegedly head-butted her. He then took a broom and began striking it at her on the legs and hip.<\/p>\n
