{"id":158272,"date":"2012-01-19T22:17:00","date_gmt":"2012-01-19T22:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bdf46fb9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2012-01-19T22:17:00","modified_gmt":"2012-01-19T22:17:00","slug":"bdf46fcd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bdf46fcd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Bush fire hits Kannat Tabla mountain anew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A large bush fire struck again Wednesday night at a mountain in Kannat Tabla, sweeping through hundreds of acres of grassland.<\/p>\n<p>Fire chief Tom Manglona told Saipan Tribune yesterday that he did not get any reports of injuries or houses damaged by the blaze.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a regular bush fire,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>When asked why the area keeps going up in flames, Manglona said it could be for various reasons. \u201cIt could be a farm area up there and people did some burning and they just let the fire unattended. Those are the issues that we also look into.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fire of still unknown cause broke out shortly before 8pm. As of 11am yesterday, some portions of the mountain were still smoking.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists and residents noticed the fire and smoke at a portion of the mountain on Wednesday night. After a few minutes, the fire immediately spread.
