Making record-breaking swims at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool were Ryuto Yanai (U8 100m butterfly\/1:22.10); Lukas Kang (boys 9 to 10 100m backstroke\/1:21.96), Miku Tammy ( 9 to 10 800m freestyle swim\/ 11:49.95); Kaito Yanai (boys 11 to 12 200m breaststroke 2:51.79); and Kensuke Kimura (15 to 16 800m freestyle\/9:12.98).<\/p>\n
Other notable events last week were the Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association\u2019s 5th Annual Coed Reverse Grass Volleyball Tournament, Seventh Day Adventist School\u2019s MTB\/Road bike fundraiser, pre-Tagaman swim race, and the clinic of Hanwha Eagles Professional Baseball Club at the Koblerville Elementary School.<\/p>\n
JR Gechig and Charnessa Lizama ruled the NMIVA grass tournament after beating Tyce Mister and Toni Yamada in the finals, 21-18, while Butch Sublemente and Mieko Carey led the winners in the SDA fundraiser at Paupau Beach.<\/p>\n
Over in San Antonio, the pre-Tagaman course swim drew 15 swimmers with Jeff El-Hajj and Florence Antonio prevailing in the long and short races, respectively.<\/p>\n
In Koblerville, five members of the Hanwha Eagles conducted a youth baseball clinic to a group of about 40 fifth and sixth graders from the Umangs. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, other on-going competitions on Saipan continued last week.<\/p>\n
