One of the top news programs in the Philippines, ABS-CBN\u2019s TV Patrol, covered the arrival of the remains of slain bartender Emerita \u201cEmie\u201d Romero at the Manila international airport Saturday night.<\/p>\n
This developed as the authorities\u2019 investigation now enters its third week, with still no arrest made. <\/p>\n
TV Patrol Weekend showed footage of Romero\u2019s remains being taken to a van at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal I. In the van was a man, said to be either Romero\u2019s husband or brother Eduardo Relata, partly covering his face while crying.<\/p>\n
According to TV Patrol anchor Pinky Webb, Romero\u2019s husband and relatives were emotional at the airport. Webb said that Romero\u2019s remains were brought to Plaridel, Bulacan, for burial.<\/p>\n
Webb mentioned that Saipan authorities have yet to release the autopsy results as well as the suspect\u2019s identity. <\/p>\n
TV Patrol\u2019s news of the arrival of Romero\u2019s remains was aired on Saipan through ABS-CBN\u2019s The Filipino Channel Sunday night. According to ABS-CBN News, Relata asked for privacy to give the family time to mourn their loss.<\/p>\n
Romero\u2019s husband and two daughters\u2014ages 17 and 8 years old\u2014are in the Philippines. One of the children was born on Saipan. <\/p>\n
Siblings Eduardo Relata and Estrellita \u201cLhet\u201d Relata, who both work on Saipan, accompanied the body aboard a Delta Air Lines flight via Japan. Romero\u2019s five other siblings are based in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
Acting governor Eloy S. Inos has vowed that the Fitial administration will do its best to bring Romero\u2019s killer to justice. Inos was among the many people who paid their last respects to Romero at a special Mass and public viewing at the Kristo Rai Church on Friday.<\/p>\n
Romero was last seen alive boarding a green or blue tinted sedan around 3am on Feb. 5 near her residence in Garapan. FBI agents found her body two days later in the northernmost building of the former La Fiesta Mall in San Roque. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
