Three minors were injured after being struck by vehicles in separate incidents while crossing Middle Road in As Mahetog and Garapan on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Police officer Jason Tarkong confirmed that three children were injured in the two accidents, including a student who had just gotten down from a school bus near the road going to the Saipan Zoo.<\/p>\n
Tarkong said he will be preparing a press release about the incidents.<\/p>\n
Saipan Tribune learned that, in the As Mahetog accident, the legs of an 11-year-old boy were fractured. He was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center.<\/p>\n
The boy was among the passengers of a Public School System bus that had just come from Tanapag. As the bus stopped across a bus stop on a road leading to the Saipan Zoo, students began crossing Middle Road. A car struck the boy, a fifth grade student.<\/p>\n
It was not clear whether the vehicle was going toward Tanapag or to the Puerto Rico area.<\/p>\n
The bus stop is located along a curve in the road.<\/p>\n
In the second accident, two children sustained minor injuries when a vehicle hit them as they were crossing Middle Road near the museum in Garapan. No other details were available as of press time yesterday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
