{"id":159160,"date":"2012-02-23T21:57:00","date_gmt":"2012-02-23T21:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/be3e92b8-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2012-02-23T21:57:00","modified_gmt":"2012-02-23T21:57:00","slug":"be3e92cc-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/be3e92cc-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"3 kids hit by cars in separate incidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three minors were injured after being struck by vehicles in separate incidents while crossing Middle Road in As Mahetog and Garapan on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Police officer Jason Tarkong confirmed that three children were injured in the two accidents, including a student who had just gotten down from a school bus near the road going to the Saipan Zoo.<\/p>\n<p>Tarkong said he will be preparing a press release about the incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune learned that, in the As Mahetog accident, the legs of an 11-year-old boy were fractured. He was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center.<\/p>\n<p>The boy was among the passengers of a Public School System bus that had just come from Tanapag. As the bus stopped across a bus stop on a road leading to the Saipan Zoo, students began crossing Middle Road. A car struck the boy, a fifth grade student.<\/p>\n<p>It was not clear whether the vehicle was going toward Tanapag or to the Puerto Rico area.<\/p>\n<p>The bus stop is located along a curve in the road.<\/p>\n<p>In the second accident, two children sustained minor injuries when a vehicle hit them as they were crossing Middle Road near the museum in Garapan.
