{"id":159994,"date":"2012-03-27T21:41:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-27T21:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bf3f84fe-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2012-03-27T21:41:00","modified_gmt":"2012-03-27T21:41:00","slug":"bf3f8514-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bf3f8514-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Ol\u2019Aces dominating upper divisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Docomo Pacific Ol\u2019Aces overcame Saipan Shipping Company\u2019s Jets I (2-3), 11-2, in the Senior Division of the Saipan Little League held last Sunday at  the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Palacios Ballfield.<\/p>\n<p>The win allowed Ol\u2019Aces to keep its lofty perch atop the age group and its four-game winning streak intact.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Senior League\u2019s Juan Santiago Jets II (4-1) downed sister team Jets I, 12-6; Rep. Antonio Sablan-Eliceo D. Cabrera Hunters (3-2) triumphed over the IT&#038;E Fielders (3-1), 16-10; and Natibu Sports Association Falcons (4-2) run-ruled San Roque D-9ers (0-5), 13-3, in six innings.<\/p>\n<p>In the Big League last Thursday, defending champion Docomo Pacific Ol\u2019Aces (5-1) defeated Sen. Ralph Deleon Guerrero Torres-Rep. Ramon S. Basa-Frederick P. Deleon Guerrero Kagman Lions (0-5), 14-6.<\/p>\n<p>Ol\u2019Aces teams are also currently  the frontrunners in the Big and Junior leagues. Hawaiya Technologies, Inc. Ol\u2019Aces, for one, is undefeated in five games. <\/p>\n<p>[B][U]SENIOR LEAGUE[\/U][\/B]<\/p>\n<p>[B]Ol\u2019Aces 11, Jets I 2[\/B]<\/p>\n<p>Ol\u2019Aces broke the ice in the opening frame off errors and a wild pitch to go ahead, 2-0.  <\/p>\n<p>Jets I got a run back in the second and briefly tied the match at 2-all in the top of the third inning, but Ol\u2019Aces piled on five runs in the third inning off seven hits; Jessie Brel bashed a two-RBI triple, Mike Muna drove him home and scored off an error, and the last run came off a wild pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Jets I\u2019s cooled off at the plate as the game progressed, while Ol\u2019Aces trotted ahead, 10-2, in the fourth inning off a double by Muna, a wild pitch, and some errors. The last run came home off an error in the sixth frame.<\/p>\n<p>Ol\u2019Aces\u2019 Muna batted 2-for-3 with two RBIs, three runs, and a base on balls.<\/p>\n<p>Winning pitcher Terson Eina went all seven innings and gave up two earned runs off six hits and two walks with six strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>[B]Jets II 12, Jets I 6[\/B]<\/p>\n<p>Jets II assumed control, 5-3, in the first inning off three hits and three walks. Jeremy Lizama busted a two-RBI double, Shane Deleon Guerrero lifted a sacrifice fly, and the other run came home off a wild pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Jets II was then gifted another run in the second frame off an error and Deleon Guerrero was beamed in the third and later stole home to put his team in front, 7-3, after three innings.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams sprinkled runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth frames before Jets II nailed in the coffin with two more runs in the seventh before squeezing the final three outs.<\/p>\n<p>[B]Hunters 16, Fielders 10[\/B]<\/p>\n<p>The Fielders led it, 4-3, after the opening frame despite being out-hit, 4-1.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders\u2019 Ian Rogolifoi then blasted a solo shot with two outs in the second inning, however the Hunters fired back to tie the game at 5-all in the bottom frame off a sacrifice fly and an RBI base smash by Nathan Sablan.<\/p>\n<p>The count shifted to 10-apiece in the third innings as both teams racked up five runs.<\/p>\n<p>Fielders\u2019 Gayvan Uchau cranked an RBI double,  James Aldan an RBI triple, and Poland Masaharu bagged an RBI single in the top frame, while Hunters\u2019 Jerome Reyes and Steven Cabrera bashed RBI base hits followed by an RBI double from Alex Monkeya and a two-RBI single by Sablan.<\/p>\n<p>Hunters\u2019 Cabrera was tapped to replace starting pitcher Monkeya at the start of the fourth and shut down his opponents in the late innings, enabling the Hunters to take the win.<\/p>\n<p>They pulled ahead, 12-10, in the fourth inning off errors and a triple by Jonathan Cabrera and added another in the fifth from an RBI single by Ty Deleon Guerrero; the group went on to add three more insurance runs in the sixth before closing the last three outs.<\/p>\n<p>Monkeya batted 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs. Sablan batted 4-for-4 with three RBIs, a run, and a base on balls.<\/p>\n<p>Winning pitcher Cabrera pitched four shutout innings and gave up only a couple of hits and a strikeout.<\/p>\n<p>[B]Falcons 13, D-9ers 3[\/B]<\/p>\n<p>Falcons assumed control in the first inning, 3-1, off a pair of RBI singles by Frankie Lieto and Ray Ray Saralu and never looked back.<\/p>\n<p>They added another run in the second from an error and three more runs in the fourth off some more errors and an RBI base rip by Lieto.<\/p>\n<p>The D-9ers managed two runs in the top of the fifth, but the Falcons obliged with three runs in the bottom frame off three hits. Haini Blas belted a triple and Saralu bagged another RBI single.<\/p>\n<p>Falcons\u2019 Jose Lizama came to the mound to start the sixth inning and kept the D-9ers at bay before his teammates accrued the three runs needed for the early decision.<\/p>\n<p>Winning pitcher Frankie Norita allowed one earned run off six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings.<\/p>\n<p>Saralu batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Lieto went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, three runs, and a base on balls. Blas batted 2-for-3 with three runs and a base on ball. D-9ers\u2019 Gino Dela Cruz swung 3-for-3 in the loss.<\/p>\n<p>[B][U]BIG LEAGUE[\/U][\/B]<\/p>\n<p>[B]Ol\u2019Aces 14, Lions 6[\/B]<\/p>\n<p>Ol\u2019Aces tacked on three runs in the each of the first two innings for an early 6-1 lead. Harry Nakamura hammered a two-RBI double in the first inning and belted an RBI single in the second. Lemarc Iguel also bagged an RBI single in the second inning.<\/p>\n<p>Lions\u2019 Richard Dela Cruz busted an RBI triple and was sacrificed home to briefly halve the deficit in the top half of the third, but the count soon shifted to 12-6 after five frames.<\/p>\n<p>Ol\u2019Aces added two runs off errors and a fielder\u2019s choice in the fourth before gashing the pride for four more runs in the fifth inning off three hits and a couple of walks. Rocco Reyes ripped a two-RBI single. <\/p>\n<p>Ol\u2019Aces\u2019 Leonard Sablan then came to the mound at the start of the fifth and went on to secure the close.<\/p>\n<p>Winning pitcher Jake Santos gave up four earned runs off six hits and two walks with a strikeout in four innings. <\/p>\n<p>Nakamura went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, three runs, and two base on balls.
