{"id":161344,"date":"2012-05-18T20:21:00","date_gmt":"2012-05-18T20:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bf8def25-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2012-05-18T20:21:00","modified_gmt":"2012-05-18T20:21:00","slug":"bf8def38-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bf8def38-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Caregiver urges feds to look into labor situation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A caregiver urged federal authorities yesterday to investigate labor abuse allegedly being committed by some CNMI employers against their caregivers.<\/p>\n<p>The caregiver, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Saipan Tribune that some employers require them to work 24 hours a day with no days off.<\/p>\n<p>Employers should let them leave the house at least on Sundays, said the caregiver, who has been working for her employer for more than 10 years now.<\/p>\n<p>Some employers, she said, are not paying their caregivers\u2019 wages on time.
