Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a one-year prison term yesterday on an ex-convict who repeatedly harassed and threatened a former girlfriend in violation of court orders and for threatening a Corrections officer with bodily harm.<\/p>\n
Robert Jake Palacios, 24, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace in the first case as part of a plea deal. In the second case, he pleaded guilty to assault, disturbing the peace, violating an order of protection, and stalking in the first degree.<\/p>\n
Palacios conceded that he violated the probation conditions of his 2009 assault and battery conviction by committing the acts in the two 2011 criminal cases.<\/p>\n
Govendo sentenced Palacios to a total of three years in prison, all suspended except for one year, with credit for time served. <\/p>\n
Palacios was arrested on Oct. 9, 2011. He will be released on Oct. 9, 2012. <\/p>\n
Upon his release, he will be placed on supervised probation for three years. He will be required to undergo anger management counseling and alcohol and drug counseling treatment<\/p>\n
Palacios was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine, plus court costs and fees.<\/p>\n
According to the plea agreement, Palacios threatened to bodily harm his ex-girlfriend in three separate incidents in 2011, disturbing her peace and violating an order of protection previously issued by the Superior Court.
