David<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>The U.S. Postal Service office on Saipan is looking at beefing up its staff and is preparing for this by training officer-in-charge Jacqueline Camacho how to train new employees.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho said the number of employees they currently have-four-is not enough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes [we have plans to hire more staff] but that&#8217;s like a work in progress,\u201d said Camacho.<\/p>\n<p>According to Camacho, USPS announces vacancies and staff opening online but does not advertise it in the newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou just have to go to our website and find out when there&#8217;s an opening or not,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho, who has been with the post office for 18 years, left for Honolulu on Aug. 21 to attend a two-week workshop that will prepare her to become a facilitator trainer and allow her to train new employees and give her more knowledge about her responsibilities as officer-in-charge.<\/p>\n<p>Ross Honda, postmaster in Kealakekua, Hawaii, will temporarily take over Camacho&#8217;s place while she&#8217;s away.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho, in an interview before she left, said this is the first time she will undergo the training since becoming the OIC for Saipan office and she looks forward to it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want me to learn a lot in a very short time. I&#8217;m up for the challenge. I&#8217;m really excited to learn a lot more. I know a lot but it&#8217;s always good to learn something new,\u201d she told Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>Honda, for his part, said Camacho will be able to give new employees orientation and training. \u201cSo it&#8217;ll make it easier for this office to have more employees,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Clarissa V.
