The Department of Commerce will hold a town hall meeting at 5:30pm on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the American Memorial Park Theater, to address the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. <\/p>\n
The goal of this meeting is to educate the public on the portion of the federal healthcare reform that extends to the territories; the implementation efforts currently being made in the Commonwealth; and how the CNMI government plans to mitigate the challenges of implementing the strict insurance market reforms. <\/p>\n
A representative of the Group Health and Life Insurance Trust Fund, which administers the CNMI government employee health plan, will also be present to answer questions. <\/p>\n
Questions and comments will be taken at meeting after the informative presentation portion. All are encouraged to attend this event. <\/p>\n
