{"id":174908,"date":"2014-01-05T22:46:00","date_gmt":"2014-01-05T22:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/c289faf8-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2014-01-05T22:46:00","modified_gmt":"2014-01-05T22:46:00","slug":"c289fb0c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/c289fb0c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Smoke advisory issued due to Lower Base fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management and Department of Public Safety, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., have issued a smoke advisory in response to a fire located at the old L&#038;T garment factory in Lower Base and adjacent to a junkyard with old tires and other plastic materials.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the particulate matter contained in the smoke generated from the fire, the potential for air pollution exists.<\/p>\n<p>The CHCC Division of Public Health is issuing the following health advisory for people who have respiratory condition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; People who have asthma, emphysema or bronchitis- should stay indoors (except for purpose of evacuating) close their windows and minimize outdoors activities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; People who are experiencing symptom of respiratory distress should seek medical care immediately.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Anyone who is concerned about the smoke may choose to stay indoors as well.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of Lower Base, Western Garapan all the way to Micro Beach and surrounding area should continue to monitor local news for future advisories from the Division of Public Health.<\/p>\n<p>For more information contact Warren F.
