Organized by the school’s Fine Arts Department, the event aims to raise funds for the department while offering the community an enchanting night of music.

Harold Easton, MHS performing arts department’s musical director, said the special show will feature the school’s Show Choir Class to be directed by Easton; the MHS Chorale to be directed by Ruthie Fruit; the Glee Club Rhythm ‘N Harmony to be directed by Paul Dujua; and the MHS Dolphin Pep Band to be directed by David Frahm.

This marks the first year that the MHS Dolphin Pep Band will be joining the concert, and the first time the band will perform a number with the show choir.

The concert arose from a realization that Easton had three years ago. While planning a concert toward the end of the first semester, he realized that they were so busy singing at other peoples’ events.

“There was so much going on those two or three weeks before Christmas that we really couldn’t do a Christmas concert. So a student suggested we combine the Christmas concert we could not do with the end of semester concert we were planning,” according to Easton.

He invites the public to grace the special event to be held at the Pedro Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Both shows will start at 7pm with general admission price of $5 and for children, $3.

All proceeds will be used to support the MHS Fine Arts program, according to Easton. (Moneth G.
