{"id":175874,"date":"2014-02-17T22:14:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-17T22:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/c2d92cca-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2014-02-17T22:14:00","modified_gmt":"2014-02-17T22:14:00","slug":"c2d92cde-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/c2d92cde-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Songao elected as CDA board chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Diego Songao, Rota\u2019s representative on the board of Commonwealth Development Authority, was elected chairman of the agency\u2019s board during a recent meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In his brief remarks to the board, Songao expressed gratitude to his fellow members and asked for their continued cooperation. <\/p>\n<p>Songao succeeds former board chair Pete Itibus.<\/p>\n<p>By acclamation, Edward Sablan also got the unanimous support of his peers to be the board\u2019s vice chairperson while Edwin Aldan was elected to the secretary position.<\/p>\n<p>All three will serve two-year terms as board officers.<\/p>\n<p>CDA is an autonomous public agency established in 1985 with the mission to provide economic loan funds to private and public sectors for economic development in the Northern Marianas.<\/p>\n<p>Its board of directors is composed of Songao, Glenn Quitugua, Edwin Aldan, Edward C. Sablan, Ike Perez, and Marcie M.
