A drunk man allegedly squeezed hard the left shoulder of his common-law wife, threatened to kill her, and resisted police arrest at their home in Koblerville Housing early Thursday morning. <\/p>\n
Edward Castro Villagomez, 53, was arrested for assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and assaulting a police officer.<\/p>\n
The wife told police that it was not the first time that Villagomez physically abused her.<\/p>\n
Police officer Christopher Santos sustained a scratch after Villagomez allegedly swung his hand when the officer tried to handcuff him.<\/p>\n
At a hearing on Friday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $1,250 cash bail. Preliminary hearing will be on Aug. 15 at 9am.<\/p>\n
Police detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that when police officers Santos and John Wabol responded to a report of a disturbance at Koblerville Housing, the victim and her 10-year-old daughter met them.<\/p>\n
The victim told the officers that Villagomez created disturbance at their house in front of their six children.<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigation showed that Villagomez had arrived home drunk and became upset when his wife refused to give him money to buy beer. <\/p>\n
Villagomez allegedly squeezed hard her upper left shoulder, shouted profanities at her, and threatened to kill her. The wife then called the police.<\/p>\n
When Santos and Wabol entered the house upon the permission of the wife, Villagomez shouted at the officers, telling them they have no permission to get in without a warrant.<\/p>\n
When Santos tried to arrest Villagomez, he allegedly resisted by swinging his hand. Wabol aided Santos in placing the handcuff.<\/p>\n
As another police officer was transporting Villagomez to the Department of Corrections, the defendant allegedly stated that when gets out he will beat up his wife. <\/p>\n
Villagomez also allegedly mentioned that he regrets not hitting Santos hard enough to knock him out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
