{"id":177632,"date":"2014-08-28T04:00:11","date_gmt":"2014-08-27T18:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=177632"},"modified":"2014-08-28T04:00:11","modified_gmt":"2014-08-27T18:00:11","slug":"jurors-deliberate-burglary-case-vs-cabael","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/jurors-deliberate-burglary-case-vs-cabael\/","title":{"rendered":"Jurors deliberate in burglary case vs Cabael"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Superior Court jury began deliberating yesterday in the case against Kyle Cabael, a man accused of being part of a group that burglarized one of the rooms at Monte Vista Hotel and Restaurant in Navy Hill. <\/p>\n<p>The six jurors started deliberations at 5pm. After an hour, Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho sent them home and directed them to return at 8:15am today to resume deliberation.<\/p>\n<p>The trial began Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant attorneys general James McAllister and Clayton Graef called a total of nine witnesses. Cabael\u2019s lawyer, Colin Thompson, called one witness.<\/p>\n<p>After the government rested, Thompson moved for acquittal. Camacho denied the motion and instructed the jury to decide on all three counts: burglary, theft, and conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that cash and several items were stolen from one of the rooms at Monte Vista Hotel and Restaurant during the Feb. 17, 2014, burglary. A surveillance camera at a nearby store led to the arrest and filing of charges against Cabael and two co-defendants.<\/p>\n<p>Cabael\u2019s co-defendant pleaded guilty.
