Monroyo)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nRegistration is still ongoing for the Art of War 9: Grappling, Submission and Jiu Jitsu Challenge set on Nov. 15 at the TSL Sports Complex in Gualo Rai.<\/p>\n<p>Flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight divisions are to be contested, according to Trench Tech Promotions owner Cuki Alvarez.<\/p>\n<p>The registration fee is $10 and the spectator fee is $5.<\/p>\n<p>Grappling, submission and Jiu Jitsu are basic forms used in the mixed martial arts that are similar to Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling.<\/p>\n<p>It is considered to be the foundation of MMA, a combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting.<\/p>\n<p>Fighters who are still interested to join can get in touch with Cuki Alvarez at (670) 483-4662 or FACEBOOK.COM\/CUKIALVAREZ or Twitter handle: @ALVAREZCUKI or visit www.trenchtech.tv.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Trench Tech fighters ruled five of the seven weight divisions in Art of War 8 with Shane \u201cPika-Boo\u201d Alvarez successfully defending his lightweight crown after beating Spike 22\u2019s Robert Alvarez via submission.<\/p>\n<p>Benjie Estoque and Ricky Rout ruled the flyweight and welterweight categories while Mylo Lassiter was the top fighter in the middleweight and heavyweight classes.<\/p>\n<p>Estoque defeated Zalaka\u2019s Alan Aguon, Rout downed Vincent Masga in an all-Trench Tech final while Lassiter won on points against Trench Tech gymmate Ningbo \u201cSlice\u201d Cepeda.<\/p>\n<p>Dexter Balajadia gave Team UA Guam the gold medal after foiling Shane Alvarez\u2019s title defense bid in the featherweight division.<\/p>\n<p>Roman Alvarez bounced back to clinch the gold in the bantamweight class.<\/p>\n<p>More than 70 fighters from Guam and Saipan joined AOW 8 with participants trading grappling skills for five minutes in the elimination round. The gold medal matches were shortened to four minutes.
