Eloy S. Inos signed into local law on Monday a measure allowing Tinian to keep all local cockfighting license fees to funds its municipal scholarship program.<\/p>\n<p>The governor signed Rep. Trenton Conner\u2019s (Ind-Tinian) House Local Bill 18-50 into Tinian Local Law 18-10.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new local law, Tinian gets to keep all local cockfighting license fees to fund the Tinian Municipal Scholarship Board\u2019s special account for the island\u2019s scholarship recipients.<\/p>\n<p>The new law allows all competing deposits to be collected by the Tinian Municipal Treasury and for the winning bidder\u2019s deposit to remain with the municipal treasury.<\/p>\n<p>It also mandates the license fee to deposited into a special account created by the Tinian Municipal Treasury for the specific use of the Tinian Municipal Scholarship Board for the island\u2019s scholarship recipients.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
