{"id":180324,"date":"2014-09-29T04:00:55","date_gmt":"2014-09-28T18:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=180324"},"modified":"2014-09-29T04:00:55","modified_gmt":"2014-09-28T18:00:55","slug":"nmc-looks-exit-exams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/nmc-looks-exit-exams\/","title":{"rendered":"NMC looks at exit exams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Marinas College\u2019s reliance on exit exams in remediation courses came into question during last week\u2019s board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Regent William Torres said during discussion that students nationwide usually have trouble with math and English courses, and asked whether student competency is still determined by an exit exam or is it in addition to the progress of performance of the student within the semester.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cIf students are developing those competencies, test them throughout.
