\nThe Smoke Pub Magic 8 Ball bounced back from a stinging loss to Route 33 Armatech to somehow cut the Hustlers\u2019 lead in the 2014 Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday Billiards League.<\/p>\n

The Magic 8 Ball used a 12-3 decision over the Jokers Homeboyz, but the Hustlers managed to keep the lead after posting an 11-4 victory against the Barcode Breakers.<\/p>\n

Wins by Chester Cuento, Rick Elefante, Rodel Dela Cruz, and Rico Montano against the Homeboyz\u2019s Nolan Cultura, Jeff Garcia, Joshua Woodson, and George Lizardo in the first set of singles events set up the one-sided contest.<\/p>\n

Cesar Sangalang in the singles and the doubles pair of Joey Lucido and Cultura prevented the shutout when they defeated Rey Hermogenes and Elefante, and the duo of Cuento and Primo Jebehn.<\/p>\n

But Smoke Pub\u2019s bid of reclaiming the top spot was doused by Armatech\u2019s 10-5 win over the Breakers.<\/p>\n

Defeats by Oscar Sablan, Rowel Mariano, Robert Sanciangco, and the doubles tandem of Simeon Kapileo and Senen Pangilinan failed to dampen the Hustlers\u2019 mood.<\/p>\n

The Hustlers now have a 57-33 slate followed closely by Magic 8 Ball\u2019s 54-36 record. Wild Bill\u2019s (49-41) and the Homeboyz (46-44) remain in title contention but need to pile up some wins in order to catch the league-leading Armatech crew.<\/p>\n

The Poseidon Titans (44-46), National Alamo Car Rental (42-48), Breakers (39-51). and the Jhonny\u2019s Team SCS (29-61) complete the standings.<\/p>\n
