The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.\u2019s Community Guidance Center recently received a notice of grant award from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the \u201cPartnership for Success,\u201d a grant focused on funding prevention initiatives to prevent or reduce the consequences of underage drinking, adult problem drinking and drinking and driving, and prescription drug misuse and abuse throughout the CNMI. <\/p>\n
The five-year grant award\u2014from fiscal year 2015 to 2020\u2014is in the amount of $1.3 million each year and will be managed by the CHCC\u2019s Community Guidance Center.<\/p>\n
The Partnership for Success grant, awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to the Prevention Services Unit of the CHCC\u2019s Community Guidance Center, will support the implementation of the CNMI\u2019s five-year PFS Strategic Plan. <\/p>\n
The project seeks to continue to support the dissemination and inter-agency sharing modeled after the Strategic Prevention Framework Process, employing traditional methods of teamwork, consensus based systems and education from a variety of sources, including both academic and cultural, to implement effective strategies to reach prevention goals. <\/p>\n
In order to successfully meet the prioritized needs for the CNMI, the Project Brabu \u201cPartnership for Success\u201d will work with collaborative assessments, build capacity, utilize strategic planning, implement and\/or monitor evidence based and locally documented programs, and evaluate state and community outcomes informed by various data methods. This process is grounded in cultural competence and sustainability integral to prevention endeavors of the CNMI for locally appropriate data driven outcomes, sustained in state and community partnerships.<\/p>\n
