The Northern Marianas Descent Corp. cancelled half of the second-day session of the inaugural Marianas Indigenous Conference yesterday due to the Tropical Storm Condition 1 declared for Saipan.<\/p>\n
The conference, which had its first day on Sept. 29, was only able to hold a session on the CNMI\u2019s economic sufficiency before it had to close down.<\/p>\n
The other half of the second-day was to focus on indigenous language and cultural preservation and the formulation of an action plan and proposed solutions.<\/p>\n
NMDC president Herman R. Deleon Guerrero told people present at the time that due to the condition 1 status, the session will be put on hold until further notice.<\/p>\n
According to NMDC moderator John Gonzales, there is no information yet on when the conference will reconvene.<\/p>\n
