{"id":182569,"date":"2014-10-21T04:00:08","date_gmt":"2014-10-20T18:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=182569"},"modified":"2014-10-21T04:00:08","modified_gmt":"2014-10-20T18:00:08","slug":"woman-allegedly-stole-rolex-ring-74-yr-old-kin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/woman-allegedly-stole-rolex-ring-74-yr-old-kin\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman allegedly stole Rolex, ring from 74-yr.-old kin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Superior Court jury trial began yesterday in the case against a woman accused of stealing a $15,000 gold Rolex watch with diamonds and a $500 heirloom ring from a relative\u2014a then-74-year-old woman with disabilities. <\/p>\n<p>Emerita Quitano Camacho is on trial for one count of felony theft. Steven Pixley is her court-appointed counsel.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution called four witnesses, including the alleged victim, who is now 75 and on a wheelchair.<\/p>\n<p>Police detective Catherine Pangelinan will continue her testimony when the trial resumes today at 9am. <\/p>\n<p>Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio is presiding over the trial. It is her first jury trial.<\/p>\n<p>Kim-Tenorio told Camacho to come to court on time today or she would have her detained at the Department of Corrections. <\/p>\n<p>Assistant attorneys general Heather Barcinas and Chester Hinds are prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho\u2019s co-defendant, Frank Tudela Pangelinan, pleaded guilty in September to receiving stolen property.
